New Friends

Lillian spent a week at One Sport Soccer Camp in Park City. She learned amazing new techniques, made some new friends and had a blast!

Two of her coaches were from Ghana. Both came to the US on Soccer (football) Scholarships. Tracy and I enjoyed visiting with them, such interesting young men. They loved teaching a sista some new skills. Very few sista's play football in Ghana. They said that girls only play football in Ghana if they're ugly!

IMG_0034Bello Alhasson is from the Volta Region and attends college of Northern Arizona.

IMG_0035 Albert Kumah is from Accra and attends Bucknell University. We couldn't help but think how far they have come. Very inspiring young men.

THE OTHER NEW FRIEND DOESN'T HAVE A NAME YET!

His name is Yellow, and his mane and tail are shimmery yellow, but he doesn't respond to it.

He needs a powerful name. CJ likes Zephyr. I like Canon or Nikon and we all know why :)

Isn't he amazingly beautiful?! He reminds me of Devil, the horse of my childhood. We rode Devil bare back holding on to his mane. Good summer memories, new and old.

I love the pictures! I'm so glad Lil had a good experience at camp, and it was so cool that two of the coaches are Ghanaian! The horses are beautiful....yep, definitely needs a powerful name. Gorgeous horse. You've been a busy lady!

I suppose "Sprinkles" isn't the powerful name you're looking for, but Miss E thinks it fits him. He's beautiful! The horse of my little-girl dreams. I still think Canon is the best name.

What a cool experience for Lillian. You don't meet many Ghanaians in Utah, and how extra cool that they share a passion for "football."

My vote is for Canon too! I think that's awesome that Lillian got to have that experience! What a great summer.

What an awsome experience for Lilly, she is such an awsome player. I like the names Gunner or Cyclone for the new addition, but that's me.

I agree he needs a real cool name. I remember Devil, we rode him all over the place. And probably some places we wern't supose to.
